Everybody in the Dark Commandery (except me) is sick at the moment, so writing was NOT going to happen today.
So, here is my thumbnail sketch of things I’ll be posting next week. Assuming I’m not sick by then, (nothing like that state of potential, that state of not being sure if you’re going to be sick or not. Every burp is a vaguely worrying event).
Anyway My review of the Legend Chuck Dixon’s book Levon's Trade: A Vigilante Justice Thriller (Levon Cade Book 1), should be ready Monday.
I’ll also be publishing the next installment of my Totally Eighties Indies series (Capital Comics this time).
Later in the week I’ll be launching the first of a new series on the late and much lamented anime studio, Gainax.
This is where it all started for them. The Dai-Con shorts that the students at Osaka University made for Dai-Con III & IV. The first short is fairly low quality although it wasn’t much worse than Fuji TV was doing at the time. But the second is lightyears better and shows the level of quality that Gainax would become known for.
These shorts were gold dust for decades because they didn’t have licenses for any of IPs they stole. So they couldn’t publish them.
Additionally, I am also open to suggestions.
Leave them in the comments below.
I'd like to see a repost of the Heroic Archetypes series. There were a couple of them - Aspirational and Trickster, I think - that had mysteriously vanished from your blog by the time I found it, so I never got to see them. I would have liked to.
Also, not really a suggestion, just a question: You know that book about the decline of Disney that you talked about so much last year? Did that ever get finished and published? It's something else I would have liked to see (and maybe own), but I never heard anything about it after a certain point.
