HYPERGAMOUSE Vol. 1 Proof

Above is a video of the printed proof, which we have approved and is being printed now. The quality is easily the highest-level we’ve achieved yet for any Arkhaven comic; the special gloss utilized for the cover can be more easily seen in the video than in the still images. At 30.4 x 21.5 cm, it is also the tallest physical book we’ve ever produced, approaching what is known as the bandes dessines format in Europe, which better suits the vertical orientation of the individual frames.

One minor change we made from the proof is that we moved the title of each episode from the top of the page to the bottom of the page, because the variable nature of the tops meant that we had to put the titles too close to the edge of the page. Moving them to the bottom fixed that nicely.

The hardcover edition. The gold logo indicates a special backer edition.

The endpapers feature original illustrations by Lacey Fairchild.

The interior print quality is exceptional although the unshaded nature of the coloring doesn’t really show it off.

It’s definitely our tallest comic produced to date, as a comparison with our new and larger standard retail size shows.

This book for the backers marks a new high-water mark for quality, not just for Arkhaven, but for the comics industry. At least, until the leatherbound versions are completed.
