Nexus, American Flagg, Badger, E-Man, and Whisper were entertaining books. Nexus and Badger introduced me to Mike Baron, who was a solid writer on the the Wally West Flash after the Crisis events. The story of Steve Rude going loopy over meeting Gary Owens was amusing.
Also of note is that Nexus, Badger, and Whisper started life over at Capital Comics (part of Capital City Distribution), but were acquired by First when Capital decided it was a distributor, not a publisher.
I remember reading American Flag.... really well enjoyable.
